Adjusting Planned Hours
Adjust Planned is used to change the “planned” (or defined) shift hours, split a shift, or remove a shift from the schedule on a specific date. A change of this type is also called a Shift Exception. Adjust Planned can be used on an open or assigned shift.
Click on the shift you want to adjust and select Adjust Planned from the menu.
The Adjust Planned dialog box will display.
Changing Planned Shift Hours
Changing the hours of a shift will allow you address a one-time need to shorten or lengthen a shift on a specific date.
Splitting a Shift
Splitting a shift will allow you to assign two or more providers to the same shift. The default split is two equal time segments (e.g., an 8-hour shift into two 4-hour segments), but the length of the segment can be adjusted. You also can choose to split the shift three or four ways using the drop-down menu.
NOTE: The segments of a split shift always share the same shift name.
Removing a Shift
If you are not going to staff a shift on a particular date, you can remove it from the schedule. (NOTE: If a shift is removed it currently can only be restored in Tangier EPS.)
Removing Shift Exceptions
To remove a Shift Exception, click on the shift and select Adjust Planned from the menu. The Adjust Planned dialog box will open with a Remove Exception button option.
NOTE: To remove a Split and restore the shift to its former length, you must first remove the providers from each segment.
