Maryland-based Peake Software Labs is the developer of Tangier and released the original version in 1998. The medical director and scheduler at one of Baltimore's largest emergency rooms came to Peake with his idea of automating the scheduling process to make it fairer for his providers, reducing stress and burnout and improving their lives in and out of the ER.
Tangier's rules-based algorithm set the standard for medical staff scheduling software and Tangier quickly grew into the most popular product on the market. With Tangier Mobile, Peake answered the demand for a full version of Tangier that allows providers instant access to their Personal Calendars via their smartphones. Peake Software continues to refine and improve Tangier, and its client list, now nearly 2,000 ERs, urgent-care centers and hospitalist groups, continues to grow each year.
